### Sofya (Saturday)

We pick up our guests from the indicated pickup points and, after passport checks at the Kapıkule border gate, we cross into Bulgaria. We give free time for shopping at Lidl and Jumbo in the morning and at noon. Following Plovdiv, we arrive in Sofia in the morning.

Brief History: The first settlement in Sofia is believed to have been founded in the 8th century BC by the Thracian tribe called Serdi. The region was later incorporated into the Roman Empire and was known as Serdica after this tribe. In 1376, it began to be called Sofia by the people because of the Church of Hagia Sophia located there.

Places we will visit in Sofia:
• Alexander Nevsky Cathedral: One of the city's symbols and one of the largest Eastern Orthodox cathedrals in the world.
• St. Sophia (Hagia Sophia) Church: The historic building right next to Alexander Nevsky that gives the city its name.
• St. Nedelya Church: An important place of worship that has suffered destruction since the Middle Ages and has been rebuilt many times.
• St. George Rotunda Church: It is said to have been built on the ruins of Serdica; it is the oldest structure in Sofia. It is under UNESCO protection and is notable for its breathtaking frescoes from different periods on its dome.
• St. Nicholas Russian Church: Known as the most elegant, typical Russian church in Sofia.
• Ivan Vazov National Theatre: The largest and oldest theatre in the country.
• Former Communist Party Building, Prime Ministry, Parliament, Sofia University, Army House: This is also where the famous balloon was made, in which the Great Leader Atatürk took part wearing Janissary clothing.
• Tsar Liberator Monument: Erected in honor of Russian Emperor Alexander II, who granted Bulgaria its freedom in the Russo-Turkish War.
• Banya Bashi Mosque (Kadi Seyfullah Efendi Mosque): The only mosque in central Sofia.
• Former Royal Palace and National Palace of Culture (NDK): The city's cultural and artistic stops.
• Vitosha Boulevard: The heart of shopping and city life.

After our tour, we give free time. Afterwards, transfer to the hotel. Guests who wish may use the indoor pool, casino and sauna free of charge, and the hamam for a fee. Guests who wish may join our outlet tour (extra). In the evening, we go on a Bulgarian Tavern tour with guests who wish to attend (extra).

### Plovdiv / Filibe (Pazar)

After breakfast at the hotel (included in the tour price), we set off on a short journey and arrive in Plovdiv, the second largest city of Bulgaria. With its long history, the city has made great contributions to Islamic–Turkish culture; it is a center where life has continued uninterrupted for 4000 years, combining the architecture of modern and ancient times.

Places we will visit in Plovdiv:

• Old Plovdiv (Nebet Tepe): The oldest part of the city is located on Nebet Tepe; it offers the opportunity to see Byzantine, Greek and Ottoman traces together.

• Batenberg Street: The most lively shopping and entertainment center of Plovdiv.

• Roman Ancient Amphitheatre: A remnant from the ancient Roman era, one of the city's iconic structures.

• Djumaya (Friday) Mosque: A remarkable example of Turkish–Islamic architecture.

• Saints Constantine & Helena and Saint Nedelya Churches: Among the oldest churches in the city.

Following the program, there will be shopping at LIDL and free time so you can explore the city as much as you wish. At the end of the free time, we depart for the return to Turkey. We arrive at the border gate in the evening; first Bulgarian, then passport and customs procedures at the Kapıkule Turkish Border Gate, followed by entry into Turkey. We drop our guests off at their pick-up points and say goodbye, looking forward to seeing you again on the next BAYRAMCA tour.
