History, Culture, Gastronomy and the Unique Atmosphere of the Aegean
Are you ready to explore the island of Lesbos, which enchants with its historic streets, traditional villages, breathtaking landscapes and rich cuisine, on the opposite shore of the Aegean?
On this special three-day journey, we visit Mytilene, the historic capital of the island, Agiassos, famous for its traditional architecture, Petra and Molyvos with their stone streets opening to the sea, Mandamados with its local flavors, and Plomari, the center of ouzo culture.
We discover historical monuments dating from the Ottoman and Byzantine periods, enjoy pleasant breaks in villages with Aegean views, and experience an unforgettable evening with local flavors in a traditional Greek taverna.
In the final day, after getting to know the authentic streets of Plomari, its historic plane tree and its ouzo production culture, we pass through the island's olive-grove-surrounded villages and return to the Port of Mytilene.
Three days, two nights and countless Aegean stories waiting to be discovered...
A special island journey for those who want to not only see Mytilene, but also experience its culture and way of life.
Discover the Aegean at your own pace.
At 07:30 am at Ayvalık Sea Border Gate after passport and ship crossing procedures, the sea voyage of approximately one and a half hours from Ayvalık begins at 09:30.
On the island, where we are welcomed by Mytilene Castle, one of the largest castles of the Mediterranean bearing traces of Byzantine, Genoese and Ottoman architecture, we begin the tour from the capital city, Mytilene. Places to see include Agios Therapon Church, which forms the silhouette of Mytilene, the Old Ottoman Bank, the square named after the island's famous poet Sappho, the city's modern market Ermou, the Historic Ottoman Bazaar, the Hamam, the Mosque and the monumental and cultural sites you will explore with your guide. Free time for shopping and dining.
The authentic architecture of Lesbos island, wood carving and ceramic craftsmanship, mineral springs, and the mountain village of Agiassos with the Church of the Virgin Mary are among our other visiting points. Passing through the Gulf of Gera, the hometown of Kaptan-ı Derya Barbaros Hayrettin Pasha, we reach Agiassos, where we complete our tour with our guide and head to the hotel.
After settling into the hotel and resting, we meet for the dinner program at around 20:00. Dinner is taken at a tavern outside the hotel. Dinner is served as a shared fixed menu. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are extra. We leave the restaurant around 23:00, return to our hotel and rest.

Our second day tour begins after breakfast at the hotel, as we reach the northern coasts of the island where we will see the westernmost point of Turkey. We move toward Petra via Kalloni, known as the beautiful town famous for the island's largest gulf, its sardines, and its salt flats. This small tourist village, whose name means "rock" in Greek, stands out with the Church of Virgin Mary perched on a rock reached by climbing 114 steps. Guests who wish can see the unique frescoes in the church, while those who wish can stroll through Petra's market.
Our next stop is Molyvos, visible from Turkey, built on the slope of a castle under UNESCO protection. At Molyvos Castle, the second largest castle on the island, conquered by Fatih Sultan Mehmet in 1462, we get out of our vehicle and walk with our guide through cobbled streets, among bay-windowed houses and under vines, down toward the historic Ottoman Fountain and the Mosque. We walk between restaurants on viewing terraces with Aegean views. We take photos capturing the Molyvos houses and the castle, then take a lunch and swimming break.
Then we arrive at the monastery, ceramics, and yogurt-famous Mandamados. We visit the Archangel Michael Taxiarchis Church, believed to work miracles not only for the Orthodox world but for all believers. Guests who wish can taste honey yogurt and lokma at the monastery's cafeteria. After the visit, on our return journey along the Turkish coast, we pass through the villages on our route and see the Thermi area and the Sarlıca Palace, the most luxurious thermal hotel of the Ottoman period, in panoramic view, completing our program and heading to our hotel for rest. Among the points of interest in Plomari are the authentic architecture of the Plomari streets built around the monumental plane tree, and the ouzo museum/factory where we will hear about the traditional production.
